Abstract

The inclusion of ICT in education is considered a strategy that strengthens educational development. However, schools located in rural areas face different conditions compared to their urban counterparts, and the digital divide still persists. Rural teachers face particularly challenging conditions when it comes to using technological tools. Their distance from urban areas and geographical conditions make it difficult to access technological infrastructure and internet connectivity. It is therefore important to understand what rural teachers think about the use of these tools in their pedagogical practices. What factors affect their motivation to use ICT in the classroom? This article presents a reflection based on research that explores teachers' perceptions of ICT use. For the purpose of this article, the focus is on rural schools that provide basic and secondary education services.
